That statement—meant as criticism—was once crippling to my life. Today, I consider it a compliment. And I proudly wear those words as a badge of honor.

My name is Tim. I’m a husband, father, writer, speaker, coffee snob, pipe smoker, bourbon drinker, person of faith, and a friendly disrupter of the status quo.

My mission is to live a life of passion, purpose, and generosity with excellence and creativity that inspires people to live with authenticity.

I’ve spent most of my life in the Church. From being the youngest of four pastor’s kids to being a full-time pastor. And during that time, I’ve always been “Pepsi in a world of Coke” (another “compliment” from a critic). You might say I’m too edgy to fit the mold.

Some have called me anti-establishment. But that’s not fair. Because I’ve worked in the establishment for decades. From leading churches to leading global organizations, I’ve spent my entire career serving the “system”. So I’m not an unreliable narrator.

As I’ve told audiences across the world, “My words will either invigorate you or infuriate you—I just can’t promise which one it will be today.” But I can assure you that Square Peg Round Hole will challenge your thinking and encourage your to be your true self.

This site isn’t a place for me to rant or run people down. I won’t act like Don Quixote and waste your time tilting at windmills. But I will question the status quo with wit and thought-provoking words that provide alternative ways to live.

If you want to break some rules, buck the system, or blow off steam, you’re in the right place. But you’re also in the right place if you want to learn to live wholeheartedly. Because our world needs people who will stand up. Stand out. And stand apart.
